Lasting Powers Of Attorney

What if you are unable to make decisions for yourself due to illness or an accident?

Although it is difficult to imagine being unable to make your own decisions, it is important to plan early so that trusted help is immediately available if you need it.

A Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA) gives you the comfort that you have appointed a trusted person(s) or firm as attorney to act on your behalf when you no longer can or feel able to.

Property and Financial Affairs LPA

Deals with the management of your assets, collection of income and the payment of bills such as utilities, mortgages, insurance and care fees etc.

Health and Welfare LPA

Deals with personal decisions such as where you live and what medication or treatment you receive, if any.

ZEDRA’s experienced team has the necessary expertise to:

  • Act as the professional attorney named in the Property and Financial Affairs LPA.
  • Assist those already acting as an attorney under an LPA.

Our Services

  • Free consultation to understand your requirements, either by telephone or during a face to face meeting, following which a fixed price quote will be provided for preparing your LPA(s).
  • The drafting of one or both types of LPA by our lawyers to ensure it reflects your wishes.
  • Acting as certificate provider where appropriate.
  • Registering the LPA(s) with The Office of the Public Guardian.
  • Free secure storage where we will keep your  LPA(s) safe until required.
  • Acting as attorney or assisting attorneys with the Property and Financial Affairs LPA.

Giving you the security that if something were to happen someone is ready and willing to look after your affairs.

By allowing you to:

  • Name a trusted person(s) or firm as your attorney in your LPA(s) instead of the Court of Protection choosing a Deputy for you should you lose mental capacity without an LPA in place.
  • Avoid any uncertainty by setting out now what you want to happen in terms of your assets and your wellbeing should you become ill or have an accident.
  • Decide how you want to be treated and looked after in the future.
  • Protect your assets and have them managed should you no longer be able to deal with them.
  • Ensure your income is collected.
  • Have your bills paid for you including utilities, mortgages, insurance and care fees.
  • Have someone deal with your tax returns.

Start preparing your LPA(s) today or seek assistance as an attorney.

Our team of experts is on hand to answer any specific queries. Please send us an email at ukwills@zedra.com or call us on 01565 748 808.
